Though it doesn't give all the details on the set's instructions, I find it interesting the way he writes his sets:


  1. I don't want to sound stupid but can you explain this set to me. It looks interesting, but am not really sure what I am looking at.

  2. X equals any distance between 25 and 100 yards @1:00. Y equals a 50, 100, or 150 @1:30, and Z equals any distance between 75 and 200 yards @2:00 and the last swim is on 2:30 for a distance equal to half of Y. Perform the whole thing through 5 times. Distances vary based on a swimmer's specialty. What Salo doesn't tell us here is what speed these swims are performed at. Presumably, they are at some speed that approaches race pace. Athlete may choose what equipment to use.
